Employment:
Prior to 1970 – trainee and graduate civil engineer working in design and construction work. Achieved Chartered Engineer status in 1967.
May 1970 – March 1997 HM Inspector of Health and Safety specialising in construction industry health and safety matters. I worked in a number of government offices in the UK, served on many committees and investigated thousands of accident and incidents. I was successful at three Civil Service promotion boards.
March 1997- present day. Self-employment as an independent consulting civil engineer in construction industry health and safety matters providing advice and information both within the UK and abroad. (See “Projects”)
Interests outside work activities:
My wife and family; performing music; keeping fit; my new academic studies; and antique auction sales.
